Employment Service


We have helped hundreds of people accessing mental health services find the job they want or retain an existing job, we understand and we care.  Our qualified advisors work one to one to ensure people receive the best advice and support and we offer ongoing support once in employment.

People can access the service if they are aged 18-65, living in Sefton and accessing either secondary or primary mental health services. Referral is from these services. This service is available Monday to Fridays, 9am-6pm (excl. Bank Holidays).

How can we help?

Our trained employment advisors work to the Individual Placement and Support model within each Sefton Community Mental Health Team and within the IAPT (Improving Access to Psychological Therapies) teams at Access Sefton.

People who are already in employment but experiencing difficulties, can also receive support and advice through this service.

Our support includes:

  • Developing employment skills and confidence
  • C.V. writing, job searching and filling in applications
  • Preparing for interviews
  • Advising people of their rights as an employee
  • Accessing benefits advice
  • Providing information about specific training and qualifications

We also work alongside employers to offer guidance and can provide mental health awareness training if required.

This service has been IPS Fidelity Reviewed by the Centre of Mental Health and is recognised as a Centre of Excellence in Merseyside.
