Imagine Independence Croydon recently had the pleasure of working with some incredible young people from the National Citizen Service Challenge. The NCS works with young people during the summer and half-term to build new skills and make new friends.

The group helped with our gardening at Kingfishers, with our User Led Group. They supported the ULG with weeding, pruning and racking with the support of our lovely staff members and Pamela from Unique Roots. The group were successful with their gardening project and the garden looks better than ever.

Another group of young people came to our Croydon office, to meet the Mentoring and Befriending team and clients. They produced a fantastic newsletter and revamped one of our leaflets. Their fundraising event took place on Croydon High Street, where the group made an incredible banner and some cards to hand out.

”My experience with Imagine Independence has been amazing. They have been very welcoming, and our point of contact was always doing her best to make sure all the young people were comfortable. Working with Imagine Independence has given my young people a chance to interact with people they wouldn’t normally interact with. They have definitely gained skills for life, it was great.” – Ola, Senior Mentor

Through their cake sale, they raised funds for us and we would like to say a big Thank You!! You were all incredibly supportive, enthusiastic and hard working. We wish you all the best with your future endeavours.
