Our Mission Enabling and supporting people to live full and independent lives

Imagine is committed to providing all its members of staff with a range of training opportunities to enhance their professional development. All staff undertake a comprehensive Induction programme covering our legislative requirements, aims, values, policies and procedures. Support workers undertake a minimum Level 2 Diploma in Health & Social Care and are supported in progressing to Level 3. Accommodation staff receive support in achieving the CQC Care Certificate. Staff progressing to management roles are enrolled onto Level 5-7 management qualifications and also undertake individualised training and support in supervisory and management skills. Specialist training is provided for all staff including, for example, developing knowledge about specific mental health conditions, risk assessment and support strategies.

The planning and delivery of staff development is informed by effective staff supervision and appraisal sessions with managers. Imagine’s Workforce Development Manager ensures that staff development priorities are planned and delivered through internally and externally sourced training. Feedback on the quality of training and its impact on the quality of our services is closely monitored and evaluated.

Effective staff training both enables Imagine to deliver a high quality service and to promote the progression of employees into posts where their abilities and skills are most effectively used to meet service users’ needs. All staff receive support and guidance from line managers and they have regular supervision and team meetings where caseloads are discussed and advice is provided.

Staff are encouraged to raise with their managers any issues concerning their own welfare. Imagine is committed to ensuring that any ‘reasonable adjustments’ are made to the work environment to ensure that all members of staff continue to be fully supported in carrying out their roles effectively.

Imagine also provides training and awareness sessions in mental health issues to external organisations.
