Imagine Independence is a mental health charity operating in the North West and London Boroughs.  We support service users to live a full and independent life by empowering and enabling service users to be actively involved in managing their mental health, developing peer support networks and supporting service users to access socially inclusive opportunities.

As Centre of Excellence for the Centre for Mental Health, Imagine Independence has secured Wave 2 funding to expand the IPS specialist Employment Service which currently covers Knowsley and Sefton to St Helens. We require suitably experienced people to become part of an Individual Placement and Support Employment (IPS) Team working within NHS Mental Health Teams across St Helens and Knowsley. Successful candidates will be highly motivated and self-driven, with social inclusion being at the centre of their values.

As an Employment Specialist, you will be required to manage a caseload of up to 20-25 people at any time who have experienced mental health problems who are unemployed and want to gain competitive paid employment. The Employment Specialist is expected to deliver the Individual Placement and Support approach – for which training will be provided.  Working directly with the client, Community Mental Health Team/Early Interventions in Psychosis teams, consultant psychiatrists, partner agencies and employers, you will support the individuals on your caseload to gain paid employment by identifying and supporting clients to overcome barriers to employment.

Post holders will be based within clinical teams, where they will be fully embedded. Travel across the borough will be necessary for meetings as required.
