Mentoring & Befriending Coordinator                            Ref: 19/36

Based in London Borough of Croydon – Fixed Term 12month Contract, 28 hours per week

Salary: £17,082.09 p.a. including London weighting.

You will have good people, organisational, training, and IT skills.

You will help organise and support our Mentoring and Befriending service. This will involve:

  • Recruiting, training and retaining volunteers
  • Assessing referrals
  • Supervision of admin staff
  • Matching volunteers with referrals
  • Managing on-going client contact and queries
  • Database input. Quality checks and surveys

This role will give you the opportunity to input your ideas for developing and shaping the service.  Involving bringing creativity and flair to the role; planning marketing events and engaging with other external organisations. You will be reporting to the Mentoring and Befriending Team Leader and have responsibility for organising and line managing admin support staff.

This role entails supporting people with mental health issues in their recovery and independence. It will include assistance with the recruitment and training of volunteers to carry out the role of mentoring and befriending people. The role will require a very motivated, enthusiastic and highly organised person.  You should also have some experience of supervising staff or volunteers.
