Imagine Independence is all about promoting independence. We work together with people with mental health issues and other challenges so they can live a full and independent life. Many of the people we engage with have lots that they can contribute to their community. We work to help them have decent housing, employment, fulfilling leisure activities, good health and a respected place in society. If you share our vision read on to find out more about our charity.
Imagine is a charity with a positive approach to mental health and works to promote opportunities for people to live a full and independent life. We are proud to have the support of up to 150 volunteers and over 200 staff members to help those who need us.
Today 1,750 people use our services in Liverpool, Knowsley, Sefton, Lancashire, Cumbria, Wigan, London and Greater Manchester. We support a wide range of people including those with mental health difficulties, learning disabilities and other disabilities. We have recently begun developing support for ex-offenders.
Service user involvement is vital. It ensures that services are shaped in such a way that they provide the required support whilst enabling the service user to enhance and retain their independence. We place a very high priority on working alongside people with mental health issues on their journey to independent and fulfilling lives.

We would like to consider ourselves a helpful and positive charity for those who need us, but unfortunately we can’t always do it on our own.
Our aim is to continue to provide a strong and effective support system that works for everyone but in a way that remains completely personal to each individual.
Your donations will enable us to continue and improve the way we can do this, ensuring that no-one who needs a little guidance for a more independent and brighter future, is not left in the dark.
We welcome volunteers - they play a very important role in our charity across a wide range of services. If you would like to know more please visit our contact page and fill out our inquiry form. Volunteers have helped us raise money to improve our services and all our volunteers receive training and on-going support. For more information visit our volunteer page.
