BUS - Building Up Stronger

BUS (Building Up Stronger) is a new project we will be launching In October 2020 that will support to people to re-engage with their community following lockdown, whilst building up their skills and resilience to adapt to any potential future lockdown that may materialise.

Funded by the National Lottery and the Department of Culture, Media and Sport for a period of 6 months, BUS will provide support in the following Liverpool wards: Princes Park, Riverside, Central, Kirkdale, Everton, Kensington & Fairfield, Picton, Anfield and Norris Green.

A place focused, proof of concept, offering a new service in the 6 inner-city wards of Liverpool, BUS will bring forward a new, scalable service model fit for the post Covid 19 environment.

By focusing on individuals’ lived experience of the Covid 19 pandemic, BUS will offer sustainable, effective interventions to promote and protect people’s well-being, in both the short and longer-term. It will do this by maximising their access to non-clinical VCSE services.

We will be supporting people whose mental health has been affected by Covid-19 to gain the confidence and skills to safely emerge from lockdown in a way that builds up resilience to any future lockdown that we may have to return to. BUS will support people to access social, training, education opportunities in the community – and we will support with learning/enhancing digital skills to enable people to be able connect and remain connected with their families, friends and wider community networks.

We are currently recruiting to fill 4 new vacancies for this exciting new project - see below for further information including how to apply. In the meantime - watch this space - we'll keep you updated on all things BUS!
